Fresh fish
The commissary procures fresh
fish locally. All fish products un-
dergo a close visual inspection un-
der a high intensity light to remove
parasites (worms) that are inherent
to fish throughout the world. From
time to time, a package affected by
parasitic organisms escapes the close
visual inspection of the food inspec-
tor. That does not mean sanitary
compliance has softened to the point
of neglect. On the contrary, food in-
spection surveillance has intensified
so that fresh fish at the commissary
continues to be one of the most sani-
tary food purchases. Call ext. 7694
or 4107 for any questions about fresh
fish.

Icelandic holiday
Thursday is Republic Day or Na-

became a republic, officially sever-

celebration of this event, Reykjavik,
Keflavik and other towns throughout
Iceland will sponsor a variety of ac-
tivities. Observers can expect to see
livals, concerts, food booths, reli-
us services and parades. Call the
Eour office at ext. 4200 for more in-
