The dominating countries have been Great
Britain, Denmark, and Spain. Trade with each of
these has exceeded 30 million kronur. More than
two-thirds of the imports have come from Britain
and Denmark, and nearly one-third of the export
trade is with Spain. The next three important
customers are Norway (19 million), Italy (13 mil-
lion), and Sweden (6 million).*
* It may appropriately be mentioned here that, instead of
dealing direct with the Icelandic importer, many American,
English and German exporters insist upon doing their trade
