3. RESULTS
3.1 Precipitation
The main results were the following:
• After two days, there was precipitation in all the
cylinders. The most was in A24 and the least in A2g.
There was a small difference in the amount in A2g and
A26 '
The difference in precipitation in A2g and A2g was
slight the first 8 days. After that, skyr particles
could be observed in A^g and the amount increased
during the next days.
• The same changes occurring in A2£ after 8 days
occurred in A^g after 24 days.
After 30 days there is most precipitate in A24
but the same amount in A2g and A2g.
• After 50 days the situation is still the same.
Whey + Frimulsion:
• After two days there had formed another phase on
the bottom of the cylinders.
The lower phase dissolved completely in the upper
phase when the liquid was poured from the cylinder.
• The amount of precipitate was very slight and was
both on the bottom of the cylinders and where the
phases met.
• The amount of precipitate was most in A24 but about
the same in A^g and A2g.
The amount of precipitate increased only very slightly
in the next 30 days.
• After 50 days the situation had not changed.
Whey t Xantan:
• A large amount of precipitate formed immediately.
• The amount of precipitate increased during the first
10-15 days, but after that changes were slight.
