Scandinavian Art Comes to America, 1912,
an international loan exhibition of paintings
by Edvard Munch, Vilhelm Hammershøi,
Anders Zorn, and other Scandinavian
pioneers of modernism at Scandinavia
House: The Nordic Center in America.
The exhibition brings together 48 works
by Nordic artists who embraced, and
pioneered, the transformative aesthetic
innovations that swept the European
continent during late 19th and early 20th
centuries. $5 ($3 for Seniors & Students

invites you to film night, Tuesday, March 6,
7:30 p.m. at the Scandinavian Cultural
Centre at 764 Erin Street to view Dreamland,
an Icelandic documentary film. Dreamland
is a film about a nation standing at cross-
roads; a nation with abundance of choices
gradually becomes caught up in a plan to
turn its wilderness and beautiful nature into
a massive system of hydro-electric and
geothermal power plants with dams and
reservoirs. Silver collection at the door.

The ICCT offers weekly language classes
held on Saturday afternoons from 1- 3 p.m.
for 8 weeks. COST: $65 for ICCT members

Classes may continue for another session
before summer and continue in the fall

Gimli, MB: Kaffitími (coffee time) in Gimli
takes place at 3 p.m. each Wednesday,
meeting at Amma’s Tea Room at the Gimli
Waterfront Centre. There is no signup and
no teacher. Anyone is welcome to drop
in; the only fee is the price of your cup of
coffee. There is only one rule – you need
to talk Icelandic in order to participate in
the chat around the table. If you just want
to listen at first that’s fine too!
