THEATRE
Until 30 June
Toronto, ON: Passion Play. Withrow Park/Eastminister
United Church.Aaron Willis, one of the early Snorri
participants, is co-producing and directing part two of this
production. About the play: Wildly ambitious in theme and
scope, Passion Play is a three-part saga that examines a
company of amateur actors staging a traditional passion
play at three different historical moments: Elizabethan
England, Nazi Germany and 1970s America. This triptych
explores the collision of religion, politics, and theatre, and
how the stories we tell shape who we are as individuals
and as a community. Written by two time Pulitzer Prize-
nominee Sarah Ruhl (Eurydice, The Vibrator Play).

Sigrun (Bubbles) Gudfinna
Timlick (Nee Johnson)
1919 - 2013
Peacefully on May 24 at age 94
Sigrun passed away with her family by
her side.
Lovingly remembered by her son,
Malcolm Timlick (VE4MG) (Heather) of
McCreary, MB and Karen LeMaistre
(Mark) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Amy
Sheffield (Steven) of Calgary and Jason
Timlick of Winnipeg, Jillian Stobart
(Mike) of Zurich, Switzerland, and Scott
LeMaistre (Christine) of Winnipeg.
Predeceased by her husband Theodore
(VE4TT) in 1983 and by 10 brothers and
sisters. She is survived by one sister,
Sylvia Hnetka of Calgary; and in-laws
Irene Anderson of Winnipeg and Grant
Timlick (Marion ) of Kelowna, BC.
Daughter of Icelandic immigrants
and one of 12 children, she grew up
on Ingersoll, graduating from Daniel
MacIntyre. She worked for Burns and
Co., Greb Shoes and for 25 years at
Standard Aero (known as “Siggie”).
Bubbles lived 40 years on Magnus
Ave. and her retirement years in Island
Lakes, The Rosewood and River Park
Gardens.
In 1954 Bubbles became one of the
province’s first female Amateur Radio
Operators, VE4ST, became President
and life member of the Canadian
Ladies’ Amateur Radio Association;
Canadian Director of the Young Ladies’
Radio League, and a member of the
Ontario Trilliums Radio Club.
In retirement, Bubbles volunteered
at Fred Douglas Lodge, traveled to
many parts of the world and enjoyed
hobbies such as ceramics, clay
pottery, embroidering and gardening.
She especially loved her family and
spending time with her grandchildren.
She was an active member of First
Lutheran Church. Alzheimer’s disease
was dealt with grace and dignity; and
she always kept a positive outlook and
a smile for everyone, living up to her
nickname of Bubbles. The family would
like to thank the caregivers at The
Rosewood and River Park Gardens for
their excellent care and compassion.
They helped extend Bubbles’ life by
many years, and we are most grateful.
A memorial service will be held at
First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor Street,
at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made
to the Alzheimer Society. Arrangements
by Bardal Funeral Home and you can
also view the longer obituary at www.
