In the upcoming exhibition
milla snorrason and EYGLO
will present pret-a-porter and
experimental clothing, inspired
from nature, the sagas, and the
qualities of the beautiful, North
Atlantic wool.
The three Icelandic
landscape painters work in
the tradition of Þórarinn B.
Þorláksson and Jóhannes S.
Kjarval. Yet, their awareness of
context, place and time make
their works contemporary
interpretations of the
characteristics and drama of
the countryside, traces of its
inhabitants, and – for Þorunn
Bara Björnsdóttir – the newly
developed land of Surtsey.
A catalogue of 54 pages
will be published in connection
to the exhibition. It will contain
statements by the artists,
examples of the works, and
four articles on North Atlantic
art and design, written by Nuuk
Art Museum curator Stine
Lundberg Hansen, University
of Greenland doctoral
student Rosannguak Rossen,
art historian and curator
Heiðar Kári Rannversson, of
Reykjávik, and art historian
and writer Kinna Poulsen, of
Tórshavn.
The exhibition has been
