SuperSonic on March 14, the icelandic Music Awards gala
was held at Harpa concert Hall. The main
winners for the best music published in the catego-
ries of pop and rock last year were Mammút with
the record of the Year: Komdu til mín svarta systir.
Mammút also received the award for Song of the
Year, ‘Salt’. Female Singer of the Year was Sigríður
Thorlacius of the band Hjaltalín. Male Singer of the
Year was John Grant, who also received the award for
Songwriter of the Year. The Band of the Year was the
rock band Skálmöld.
At the live televised award show, many of the
best and most popular icelandic artists performed,
amongst them the nominated emilíana Torrini (pic-
tured here).
