Coney Iceland
June 8, 21:00
3.500 ISK
Are you a true freak? Are you down
with the clown? Are you a mermaid
trapped in a biped body? You just
might be the kind of person who
Coney Iceland wants to entertain!
With their old school carny sideshow
antics, the freakiest circus in town
features sword swallowers, super
strong gymnasts, burlesque beau-
ties and a penis-painter. As in the
paintbrush is their cock. How can
you skip that? RX
For Those Who Couldn’t Cross the

Opening June 10 (runs until

Nordic House

“Home is the barrel of the gun and
no one would leave home unless
home chased you to the shore.”
These gut-punching words of Soma-
li-British poet Warsan Shire come
to life in this group exhibition by five
Middle Eastern artists grappling with
the trauma of displacement from
conflict. Bringing forward voices
that are terribly underrepresented
in Icelandic arts, these artists’ works
confront ideas of identity, erasure,
and belonging, and what it means
to find a new home when you never
wanted to leave yours. RX

part to bring us a smorgasbord of
queer artists from all walks life over
one fabulous weekend. There will

your new favourite piece of artwork

family with. RX
