tions that they imparted to us and the
resulting interconnections that we now
enjoy among our expanded and inclusive
communities.
While we have not fully succeeded in
addressing the diaspora of the descendants
of the pioneers from Iceland, and we will
never reach them all, we have, I believe, in
the circumstances, come further than the
founders of the Icelandic Canadian
Magazine and their contemporaries would
have thought possible by the time of the
first years of the twenty-first century. It is
the challenge to the current generation of
the descendants of the pioneers from
Iceland to build on the foundations that
have been created by those who long ago
set the direction for our communities by
providing a publication for the second,
third and subsequent generations.
