The Breidavik-Hnausa Cairn was dedicated on August 5, 2000 to the pio-
neers of the district. In 1876 about thirty-five Icelandic families arrived, fol-
lowed later by groups of Ukrainian, Polish, and ITungarian immigrants.
Together they built a once thriving community along the west shore of
Lake Winnipeg.
