all technical aspects of the sampling. K.
Hoydal, Director of the Fisheries
Department of the Faroese Govemment,
was responsible for the project and its fund-
ing on the govemmental level. From the
outset, ten main institutes from six coun-
tries were involved in the programme, and
limited sets of samples were collected for
other laboratories in different countries.
