Ardis Report
By I. GILLIES
Delivered at the Twenty-Ninth Annual Convention
oj the Lutheran Women’s League,
Riverton, Man., June 12th, 1953.
Madam President, Guests and Members:
In presenting the Financial Statement of the Lutheran Women’s
League Magazine, “Ardis”, it gives me particular pleasure to be
here in Riverton, a place which stands out in the story of our
pioneers.
I think we can feel proud that our next edition of Ardis (1953)
will mark its 21st anniversary. We can feel that something worth-
while has been accomplished in conjunction with other worthy
projects of the Lutheran Women’s League.
Each year we are most fortunate in securing for the various
committees, members who work with diligence and faithfulness
for the welfare of Ardis. The magazine’s success depends upon the
enthusiasm of these voluntary workers.
1952 was it’s best year. The increase in volume over the previous
years was very encouraging. Expenses were higher, but the out-
come was to its good.
Distribution was well handled and co-operation among the
various committees—as always—pleasant and agreeable. All of the
750 copies printed were sold, with exception of a few complimentary
copies.
Bearing in mind the circulation and the good will which has
been won for our magazine we can consider “Ardis” as definitely
established. Let us hope and pray that it will continue to be
published as long as the Lutheran Women’s League continues to
function.
Grateful thanks go to all those who so loyally support Ardis
every year. On behalf of the Ardis committee I say—Thank you one
and all. It is your support that makes it possible to carry on.
I wish God’s Blessings on all members of the Lutheran Women’s
League and their endeavours.
