Halldórsson, who usually works in the medium of painting, is known for his use of unconventional materials in his creations, such as car enamel, oil pas- tel and spray paint. His work often refer- ences graphics, graffiti and pop-culture and is influenced by daily life and his surroundings. At Gallery Ágúst, he will present adventurous and colourful paintings as well as a large wall paint- ing that fully occupies one of the gal- lery’s walls. Halldórsson has exhibited wide- ly both in Iceland and abroad since he graduated from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts a couple of years ago. For in- stance, he was among the group of Ice- landic artists selected to present their works at the HangArt-7 art exhibition in Salzburg last fall. The exhibition opens at 16:00 on January 12 and his paintings will be on display until February 23.
