Goodbye
Goodbye is never easy
the hardest thing to say
but the thing that hurts us most of all
we missed our chance that day
A day quite strange for Iceland
the sun shone strong and bright
then clouds fell on our spirits
for you were lost from sight
How sad to pass in Iceland
half a world from home
fear not my friend,
a piece of us went with you
you didn’t go alone.

Arnold visits NAS Keflavik
Major General Larry K. Arnold, commander, 1st Air Force,
Air Combat Command and commander, Continental U.S.
North American Aerospace Defense Command Region,
Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla. landed at NAS Keflavik July 21.
He was here with 1st Air Force and civic leaders from Bay
County Fla. on the Iceland leg of a European tour to enhance
understanding of the United States’ mission overseas. (Photo

Making the base beautiful
NAS Keflavik Executive Officer Cmdr.Ted Carter presented a plaque on
July 19 for stairwell of the quarter from April-June 2001 to Building
1218 coordinator ITC (AW/SW) Crystal McGhee. The award is given to
