In recognition of this the Red Cross here is offer- ing some historical information throughout the month about the Red Cross. In 1965, at the military's request, the Red Cross begins its Supplemental Recreation Activities Overseas (SRAO) program in Vietnam - the “Donut Dollies” who bring light entertainment, refreshments, and a touch of home to the troops. The International Red Cross Movement proclaims the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity, and Universality.
