ON THE AIR
This weekend AFRS will air two
major league baseball games and a
football game between the college
all-stars and the New York Jets.
Tomorrow the 1969 college all-star
football team will battle the world
champion New York Jets on the Gridi-
ron beginning at 1:05 p.m.
Later in the evening the Baltimore
Orioles and the Minnesota Twins meet
in the American League. This game
begins at 6:10 p.m.
On Sunday evening there is National
League action when the Atlanta Braves
confront the New York Mets. The game
will get underway at 9:30 p.m.
STATION HORSEHOE TOURNEY
SLATED FOR AUGUST 11

The 1969 station horse-shoe tourna-
ment is scheduled to begin on August
11. The tournament, which is held
annually, is open to all station per-
sonnel. Those entering the tourney
must submit their entries on or be-
fore August 8. Entries are being taken
at the fieldhouse or by calling ext.
5191.
AN To™ Currie
Ping pong champion Denny Kiel dis-
plays the form that enabled him to
beat all comers in this years station
ping pong tournament held at the field-
house last week. Denny defeated
Ken Nysted in the finals match 21-15,
21-17 and 21-18 to take the champion-
ship trophy. There were 32 competitors
in this years tourney.

The biggest fish to be caught at
Hvalfjordur in this season's fishing
contest for NATO Base personnel was
a 1614 pound, 34 inch salmon. The fish
surpassed the previous season record
by seven inches. Delbert Hardy landed
the voracious salmon on four pound
test line in the time of one hour and
five minutes. The record catch of the
season took place on Friday, July 18
at the Special Services fishing camp
at Hvalfjordur.
