Naval Security Group Activity held its recent
quarterly inspection and awards ceremonies, recog-
nizing 11 of its men for exemplary service.
• CT03 William T. Harknesswas awarded the Joint
Services Commendation Medal for meritorious ser-
vice as a communications operator while attached
to the special security office, Communications
Center on the staff of Commander in Chief,Pacific.
The award was for the period May 1969 through July
1971.
• CTACS Alfred J. Pawlikowski was awarded the
Navy Achievement Medal for sustained superior per-
formance while attached to the Naval Security
Group Command in Washington, D. C., from June 196S|
through July 1969. \
• CTM3 Robert T. Murray was awarded the Navy
Unit Commendation for service at NSGA, Hakata,
Japan. The unit got the award for the period July
1967 through June 1969.
• CTTCS Robert C. Bruce was awarded the Meri-
torious Unit Citation that was presented to the
Naval Communications Station, Guam, for the period
January 1968 through December 1969. Ihe award was
for communications support provided to operating
forces of the Seventh Fleet in the Far East.
• CTTC John P. Hauber was also awarded the Mer-
itorious Unit Citation for service at the Naval
Communications Station, Guam, for the period Janu-
ary 1968 through December 1969.
• CT03 Scott D. Hodgin was awarded the Meritor-
ious Unit Citation presented to Task Force 92 for
meritorious service during the spring and summer
of 1970 while conducting "Ivy Green" operations in
the Pacific Ocean area.
• CTT3 Gary R. Hum was awarded the Meritorious
Unit Citation presented to the Naval Communications
Station, Spain, for meritorious achievement in the
fields of cryptology and special communications
from January 1969 through December 1970.
• Good Conduct Awards went to CTTC Kieth E.
Powell (fifth award), CTRC Charles F. Martin, Jr.,
and CMC Thomas R. McNutt (third awards), CTM2s
Robert G. Grenoand RonaldE. Harris (first awards).
• CW02 Marvin J. Riggs was recently promoted
to his present rank. He is NSGA's facilities of-
ficer.
• CT03 Richard K. Biancardi has reenlisted for
six years under the Navy's STAR program. He re-
ceived a $9,700 variable reenlistment bonus and a
guaranteed assignment to Radioman "B" school.
• CTR1 Donald L. Corbitt reenlisted for foi
years.
• From the Fleet Weather Facility, AG2 Jol
Gilzean has reenlisted for four years. A seven-
