• ETN2 Rickey L. Shivley has reenlisted for six
years for a new duty assignment as an incentive.
He is attached to NavCommSta, and was guaranteed
an accompanied tour of overseas shore duty upon
his transfer.
• ETN3 Christopher F. Fabian has reenlisted for
six years under the Navy's STAR (Selective Train-
ing and Retention) program. He was guaranteed as-
signment to ET "B" school or an equivalent. He is
a graduate of ET "A" and ET "C" schools.
• MSgt. Roger M. Laverdiere has been awarded
the Air Force Commendation Medal for service as
the senior director technician instructor, 765th
Air Defense Group, Charleston AFS, Maine. The
award period was from December 1969 through June
1970.
• Capt. Arthur D. Echelberger has been awarded
the Air Medal for aerial flight operations as a
pilot assigned to the 57th Fighter Interceptor
Squadron here. The award was for the period Feb-
ruary 1970 to May 1971.
• Lt. Col. Joseph E. Smith has been awarded the
Air Medal (First Oak Leaf Cluster) for flight op-
erations while assigned to the 57th Fighter Inter-
Hptor Squadron here from April 1970 to May 1971.
W • Maj. Carroll R. Cooley has been awarded the
Air Medal for flight operations while assigned to
the 57th Fighter Interceptor Squadron here from
May 1970 to May 1971.
• 2nd Lt. Edward J. Murphy, III,has been award-
ed the Meritorious Service Medal for service as
the division director of administration, 24th Air
Division, Malmstrom AFB, Mont. The award was for
the period December 1969 to May 1971.
• MSgt. William B. Sims has been awarded the
Air Force Commendation Medal (Second Oak Leaf
Cluster) for service as the NCOIC of the allowance
and authorization unit of the 3750th Maintenance
and Supply Group, Sheppard AFB, Tex. The award
was from January 1970 to May 1971.
• MSgt. John B. Barron has been awarded the Air
Force Commendation Medal for service as the NCOIC
of the flight line support unit, 3500th Field
Maintenance Squadron, Reese AFB, Tex., from Janu-
