Art show in Kef.
^HdV<
Thorsteinn Eggertsson is still sponsoring an ex-
it of his paintings in Keflavik, so you still
ve a chance to see his work.
Thorsteinn considers his paintings to be contem-
porary, and all of them are very colorful. He gets
this effect by mainly using gouache and poster col-
ors as his media.
The 29~-year — old artist says that he has been
drawing since he was a child, but it wasn't until
he was 18 years old that he started painting. He
studied for two years at the Copenhagen Academy,
and last year he studied for a half year in West
Berlin under a private tutor.
In the wintertime, Thorsteinn teaches art to
children in Reykjavik. This will be his fifth year
for teaching.
The exhibit which he is presently sponsoring, he
considers to be "a small, local exhibition. I have
participated in art exhibits in Reykjavik along
with other artists," he continued, "but this is my
second lone exhibit." At the exhibit, 22 of the 24
paintings are available for purchase.
Thorsteinn's art exhibit is at Tjamargata 3 in
Keflavik, which is located on the street, perpen-
dicular from Main St. and across from Stapafell.
The paintings are on the second floor. It will be
open tonight from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., tomorrow,
from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Sunday, from 4 p.m.
until 10 p.m.
