Tour office notes
There will be a special airfare,
hotel package to London departing

The Tour Office is offering 1 and
2 week packages to Mallorca or 2
week packages to Ibiza; both leaving
March 30 and April 3. Included in

week packages to the Canary Islands;
leaving March 9 and April 20. In-
cluded in the price is airfare, ac-
commodations, transfer Airport/Hotel
/Airport.
The March 6 performance of the
Icelandic Symphony Orchestra will
feature Pall P. Palsson as conductor
and Flute Soloist - Manuela Wiesler.
The program will include Liszt-
Flute Poetry Number 5, Thorkell Sig-
urbjornsson - Flute Concert; and Lut-
oslavsky - Symphony Number 1. Tick-
ets will be available Monday, Febru-
ary 25 until noon Friday, February
29.

Younger honored
Storekeeper First Class (SKI)
Stephen L. Younger was awarded the
Navy Achievement Medal recently by
Captain T.J. Keene.
SKI Younger was presented the
medal for "professional achievement
in the superior performance of his
duties as Naval Station Expeditor
while serving with the Supply De-
partment, U.S. Naval Station, Kefla-
vik, Iceland during May-June 1979."
"Confronted with strikes which
hampered sea transportation efforts,
Petty Officer Younger's exceptional
motivation, initiative, and techni-
cal skill were instrumental in
maintaining a steady flow of sup-
plies, personal property, and house-
hold good to Iceland."
"The success of his efforts elim-
inated potential hardships to Kef-
lavik military personnel, their de-
pendents, and DOD civilian employees
and contributed greatly to his com-
mand's ability to maintain supply
readiness and an effective mission
support capacity."

NSGA advances six personnel Feb. 14
Six members of the Naval Security
Group Activity were advanced on Feb.
14, including the command's first
female first class petty officer.
Receiving advancement certificates
from the commanding officer, LCdr.
J. P. Collins, were CT01 Janis Phil-
lips, CTTSN Melissa Steiner, CTRSN
Carol Smith, CTOSN Darlene Donovan,
CTTSN Lance Deviney, and SA Sharon
Lee. Also recognized at the Valen-
tine's Day ceremony were CT02 George
Silvertooth, who was awarded his
first Good Conduct Medal, CTMC Char-
les Burns, who was inducted into the
command's 100 mile Joggers Club> an^
CTMS Wayne Callison, who was pre-
sented a certificate designating him
as a Navy Master Training Specialist
as recognized by the Chief of Navy
Technical Training.
