SecNav directs 10% mileage reduction
The Secretary of the Navy has
directed commands operating govern-
ment owned and leased vehicles to
reduce the total mileage traveled
during the months of March and April
by 10 percent as compared to the
same period in 1979.
The Naval Station Transportation
Officer, Chief Warrant Officer T.S.
Barba, gave individual assistance to
each vehicle control officer of ac-
tivities here that are utilizing
Class B vehicles. This assistance

Icelandic course offered
The Navy Campus is now accepting
reservations for a course in Begin-
ners Icelandic.
The course will consist of 200
words and basic grammar. The class
will begin Wednesday and continue
through May 14th. There is a fee
of 17,000 Kronur. Five thousand
Kronur must be paid at the time of
registration. Registration will
continue until Wednesday.

Amie Renee Mann was born at 4:56
p.m. on March 13. She is the daugh-
ter of Staff Sgt. Michael Allan and
Janet Lynn Mann. Staff Sgt. Mann
works with the 960th Aircraft Con-
trol and Warning Squadron.
Jessica Marie Schaffer was born
at 8:49 a.m. on March 16. She is
the daughter of AME2 Edward M. and
YN2 Susan D. Schaffer. Petty Offi-
cer Edward Schaffer works with the
Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance
Department. Petty Officer Susan
Schaffer works at U. S. Naval Facil-
ity.

Easter egg hunt slated
The Arctic Sportmen's Club will
hold an Easter egg hunt for club
member families on Saturday 10 a.m.,
April 5. All members are urged to
sign up their children at the club-
house during regular business hours
tommorrow from noon to 4 p.m., and
on Monday from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Deadline for signups is on Mon-
day at 9 p.m. There is no charge
for the egghunt.
The hunt-------which will have sepa-
rate areas for children aged to
three years, four to seven years and
eight through 12 years----will take
place in the open areas adjacent to
the clubhouse, building 2120.
