A IMD, CFK lead
summer bowling
The summer intramural bowling
season got underway Monday night
with two of the four leagues seeing
action.
The American League kicked off at
6 p.m. with AIMD shutting out NavFac
for the early league lead. Nick
Nassar provided the fire power with
a 231 game and 556 set with Steve
Dugan adding a 516 and Perry Boren a
503. Phil Blauvelt led NavFac with
a 527.
Ir. other action, Bruce Michaelson
had a 210 and 552, Ken Peer a 517
and Paul Pietruzewski a 500 as AFI
tripped Food Services for three.
Harvey Oaks rolled a 201 and 523 as
IDF won three from Comptroller and
the 960th AWACSS and Commissary
split their match as did Navy Broad-
casting and the 57th FIS. Bill Jas-
per was high for the 960th with a
524 and Ed Jones was next with a 209
and 518. Bill Hershey's 223 game
gave the 57th pins for the split
while Ron Gulick's 212 and 557 was
high for NBS with Skip Groce coming
in with a 541.
In the North Atlantic League Ed
Sibel had the hot hand for the even-
ing. He rolled a 612 set, including
games of 215 and 223, to lead CFK to
a 4-0 win over the Black Knights.
Greg Patrick wasn't far behind with
games of 207 and 210 and a 594 ser-
ies. Jim Beard added a 519 and Donn
Sheldon had a 512, all for the win-
ners .
AIMD #2 shutout Medical #2, the
960th's t3 team was a 3-1 winner
over Air Ops #2 and the 57th FIS #4
dumped Weapons 4-0. Larry Rose led
the 57th with a 221 and 535 and Paul
Montgomery followed with a 224 and
529. The Personnel Support Detach-
ment (PSD) downed Club Management
for three behind Tom Jablowski's 202
and 526, Calvin Pauling's 506 and
Mike Berry's 501. JoJo Enriquez had
a 211 game for Management. CommSta
NRK and Air Ops split their match to
round out the action. Greg Loos was
high for NRK with a 217 and 564.
Doug Drewry had a 214 and 537 and
Dan Smith a 204 and 533. Steve Buf-
fington's 500 topped Air Ops.
The National League began their
league Tuesday while the Interna-
tional got underway last night.

The Keflavik Women's Bowling Ass-
ociation will Hold a no tap bowling
tournament tomorrow and Sunday.

Bruce Michaelson retained his
title as King of the Hill for the
fifth straight week. He defeated
Dan Bushonp, in tile finals.
Judy Dempsey upended Debbie Jones
to take over the Oueen of the Hill
title.
King, and Oueen of the Hill comne-
tition is held Sunday at noon.
There will be a meeting for all
peoole interested in a golf league
on Monday at 5 p.m. at the base gym.
Rosters for softball are due on
Monday. All plavers from commands
not sponsoring a team should submit
their names to the base gym not lat-
er than 5 p.m. on Monday; to be
placed in a players pool.

The base gym pool will be closed
Sunday from .1:30 to 2:30 and 5 to 6
p.m.
The base gym is closed today for
pest control (April 25).
Any person who has placed his
name on the waiting list for a long
term locker at the base gym should
come in to the base gym. Lockers
are available now.
There will be a wrestling tourna-
ment at the base gvm tomorrow from
noon to 4 p.m.
