Michaelson leads The American League's AFI entry put five 500 series to use Monday night and shutout the presiding base champions, the 960th AWACSS, 4-0. Bruce Michaelson led the assault with a 586 set, including games of 204 and 201. Paul Pietruszewski was next with a 205 and 563, Jim Kearney followed with a 200 and 561, Ray Peterson had a 532 and Ken Peer came in with a 526. Mike Luce topped AWACSS with a 200 and 542 and was followed by Ed Jones with a 211 and 518. Bill Jasper added a 215 game for the 960th. In other American League play, Jack Roberts' 533 paced Food Ser- vices to a 4-0 victory over NavComm- Sta. Mike Varney was high for Comm- Sta with a 532. Navy Broadcasting held on for a 3-1 decision over Nav- Fac while A.IMD scored a 3-1 win over VP-46. Nick Nassar had a 523 and Roger Bognot a 521 for AIMD. Ron Terwilliger's 529 was enough to pace Comptroller to a 3-1 win over the Commissary. Rudy Cachin had a 203 game for the Cbmmissary. The 57th FIS won two and a half from IDF with A1 Burke rolling a 500 even. CommSta NRK got four 500 series from their squad and rolled to a 4-0 win over Air Ops #2 in the North At- lantic League. Vern Matteson was high with a 555. Doug Drewry had a 538, Dan Smith a 532 and Greg Loos a 514 for the winners. Air Ops #1 blanked Club Manage- ment, Jim Beard had a 560 as CFK tripped Weapons for four, the Black AFI’s assault Knights won four from Medical #2, Ron Calllouette had a 520 for AIMD #2 in their 3-1 win over the 960th AWACSS and PSD won three from the 57th FIS, despite a 208 and 576 by Paul Montgomery and a 204 and 506 by Larry Rose for the 57th. In the National League, the Sup- ply Chiefs got an easy first night win by taking four from Recreation by forfeit. Joe McGlynn had a 204 and 563, Bill Harrell a 216 and 558 and Doris McGlynn a 206 for Supply. Rounding out the rest of the league, CommSta dropped AFI for three, Medical won three and a half from the Navy Exchange, Fred Urban's 525 led Dental past the 57th FIS Good Guys 3-1, Van Sullivan had a 210 and 543 as the CFK Chiefs dropped ComFairKef for three and Supply it2 and IsComlce split their match. Lucky Thomas was high for Supply with a 529 while Dennis Lewey led IsComlce vrith a 513, Jim Kyne rolled a 218 and 545 and Dale Cook a 512 as Det. 14 blanked Specomm in the International League. Admin and NSGA #1 also recorded 4-0 wins. Admin blanked NSGA It2 and NSGA #1 shutdown Grindavik. Mike Stasiak had a. 227 and 559 to lead NSGA #1. Curtis Brodnax had a 505 in the 960th AWACSS 3-1 win over NavFac #1 and NavFac 1)3 and Public Works and AFI and the Marines split. Nick Nicholson had a 535 for PWC while Darwin Ray led AFI with a 224 and 608 and Chuck Parker followed Ray with a 200 and 548.
