designed by and prepared by the White Falcon staff during
off-duty hours. MWR's entries in the Fourth Annual Re-
creation Awards Program -- in the categories of posters
and flyers and for brochures and newsletters -- were of-
ficially recognized at a special awards meeting held in
Kansas City, M0 last month. It was at that meeting that
MWR's director, Val Larusson, accepted the awards on be-
half of his department, Naval Station, and the above in-
dividuals who made them all possible.

The lodge consists of 31 different rooms that rent
from $17 to $23, depending upon the type of accommoda-
tions. Rooms vary from single with adjoining bath with
two double beds, nightstand, dresser, television and
wall-to-wall carpeting to three-room apartments with re-
frigerators, stoves, oven and sinks, tables and chairs
as well as washer and dryer.
Additionally, family rooms and kitchenettes offer ex-
panded living facilities with day beds or sleeper couch-
es. The kitchenettes are equipped with small refrigera-
tors, stoves, sinks, and the necessary eating utensils.
A laundrymat is located on the second floor and con-
tains a washer and dryer and a vending machine with
laundry supplies.
Other services at the Navy Lodge include vending ma-
chines that sell soft drinks, beer, candy, snacks, cold
and hot foot, cigarettes and stamps. There is also a
small convenience store in the main lobby that sells a
limited selection of miscellaneous items, such as bath
soap, toothpaste, shampoo, writing paper, newspapers and
magazines.

Gym notes
The Northern European Raquetball Tourna-
ment was held recently and four people from
the NATO Base took part. They were, SSgt.
Daniel Hernandez who placed first in the
Men's Open Division; ENS Patricia Garland
who was first in the Women's Open competi-
tion with TSgt. Darlene Bigler second.
CMSgt. Pat Clerkin took third place in the
Men's Open.
Public Works defeated VP-24 13-12 in the
cahllenge football game last weekend. VP-24
had the speed but it was Public Works who
used their knowledge of wet field playing
to win the match.
In last Saturdays Half Marathon, Ralph
Stewart placed first with a time of 1 hour
and 20 minutes. Donn LeVally was second
at 1 hour 22 minutes and Scott Ellis third
with 1 hour 24 minutes.
Basketball season starts tomorrow at the
base gym so come out and support your team.

In other bowling news, Millie Fahland
held onto her "King of the Hill" title for
the third straight week. Steve Farnham,
Dan Schmidt, Fred Browning and Mike Bunton
were unsuccessful in their attempts to
capture the title.
Youth soccer
The results from last weeks Indoor Soc-
cer Leagues are as follows: In the Midget
League, Blue beat Red 5-1. Junior League,
Red and Orange tied at 3 all, and Green
beat Blue 5-4. Senior League, Orange beat
Red 9-0 and Blue defeated Green 8-4.
