Patrol Squadron 56 arrives in Iceland

l Squadron 56 (VP-56), homeported in Jacksonville, Fla., arrived
land this week, to relieve Patrol Squadron 49. The Patrol
'quadrons deploying here are tasked with the duties of anti-submarine
warfare (ASW) and surface surveillance. The squadron will use its
eight updated P-3 Orion aircraft which are “without a question the best
ASW platform there is," according to VP-56’s Commanding Officer
