Choir group
breaks the
silence...
A group of nearly 50 Icelan-
ders from Reykjavik visited the
base chapel last weekend to share
in an evening of ministry. The
message communicated, though,
was not heard so much by ears,
but felt in the spirits of those who
watched.
Many of the visitors who came
were deaf and mute. They
watched as first a choir group
from the Base performed a song
using sign language.
Then, a group of seven deaf
and yiute Icelanders held the
audience spellbound as they per-
formed a syncronized drama
routine to music they could not
hear playing over the sound sys-
tem.
The event was a repeat of a
performance that occurred a few
weeks ago in a Reykjavik church.

Halloween is celebrated on Sunday evening. If
your child is planning to trick-or-treat, the hours
are from 5 to 8 p.m., basewide.
The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines
will hold a concert at Andrew’s Theater Nov. 4 at 7 p.m.
This event is open to all base personnel.
In addition, the band will perform at 9:15 a.m. Nov. 3 at
the elementary school.
Later that evening, the musicians will entertain
the guests at the Marine Ball.
