a highly interesting geological region and the most significant
historic site of the country for its ancient parliament, Alþingi
(Althing). We continue to the impressive waterfall, Gullfoss, and
the geothermal area Geysir where we stop for refreshments. This
tour also takes you through fertile agricultural areas where a
photo stop is made by the crater, Kerið.
Price: EUR 43,- per person. Incl.: Bus, guidance and afternoon
refreshments.
13:00-17:00 The Blue Lagoon
The lagoon is rich in a unique natural combination of minerals.
Blue-green algae and white silica mud form a light natural sedi-
ment on the bottom of the lagoon and give the lagoon its soft,
milky, aquamarine colour. After a refreshing bath and refresh-
ments at the Blue Lagoon we will visit “Gjáin” (the “Gorge”) at
Svartsengi. An exhibition has been opened in “Gjáin” where the
local geology, geothermal activity and the harnessing of the energy
from the bowels of the Earth are on show.
Price: EUR 48,-per person.
Included: Bus, guidance, towel rental and entry to the Blue Lagoon
and Gjáin.
