una hvert ár, er meðaltal fólksl'jölda í ársbyrjun og árslok. Fólkstala fyrir
1973, sem við er miðað, er 212 364.
Hluti kaffibætis af kaffineyslunni samkvæmt yfirlitinu var sem hér
segir síðustu árin (100 kg): 1970: 366, 1971: 276, 1972: 230, 1973:192.
4. yfirlit sýnir verðmæti innfluttrar vöru eftir mánuðum og vöru-
deildum. Fyrr í þessum kafla er gerð grein fyrir skiptingu innflutnings
skipa og flugvéla á júní og desember, en hann er eins og áður segir
aðeins tekinn á skýrslu tvisvar á ári.
í 5. gfirliti er sýnd sérstök skipting innflutningsins 1973 eftir
notkun vara og flokkun landa, sem flutt er inn frá. Frá og með Versl-
unarskýrslum 1970 var tekin upp ný flokkun innflutningsins eftir notk-
un, sem Efnahagsstofnunin gerði tillögu um. Þessi nýja flokkun, sem
skýrir sig að miklu lejdi sjálf, er svipuð þeirri eldri, en miklu ýtarlegri,
enda eru vöruliðir hennar 69 að tölu, á móti 34 í eldri flokkuninni. Fyrir-
varar þeir, sem gerðir voru við eldri flokkunina (sjá hls. 17*—18* i
inngangi Verslunarskýrslna 1969) eiga einnig við þá nýju. Rétt þótti að
breyta um leið landaflokkum þessa yfirlits og hafa EFTA-lönd þar út
af fyrir sig, vegna inngöngu íslands í Fríverslunarsamtök Evrópu 1. mars
1970 (sjá nánar þar um á hls. 46* i Verslunarskýrslum 1970). — Þess
skal getið, að þessi flokkun innflutnings er nú gerð ársfjórðungslega, en
birting á niðurslöðum hennar er ekki enn hafin.
