Skýringar Notes: í magntölum hér að ofan er ekki meðtalið áfengi, sem áhafnir skipa og flugvéla flytja inn í landið, eða það magn sem ferðamenn taka með sér
frá útlöndum eða kaupa í fríhöfn. Ekki er heldur meðtalið það magn sem ÁTVR eða aðrir aðilar flytja úr landi eða selja til Fríhafnarinnar á Keflavíkurflugvelli. Frá
og með 1. desember 1995 var einkaréttur ÁTVR til innflutnings áfengis og sölu til endurseljenda afnuminn og leyfishöfum þ.e. innflytjendum, framleiðendum og
heildsölum með sérstakt leyfi frá fjármálaráðuneyti heimiluð sala til endurseljenda. Frá árinu 1995 ná magntölur yfir sölu ÁTVR og leyfishafa. Árið 1992 teljast
borðvín og heit vín til léttra vína en aðrar tegundir eru taldar til sterkra vína. Frá og með 1993 er létt vín skilgreint sem allt vín 22% eða minna að styrkleika.
The abovefigures on quantity do not take into account alcohol imported by ship and aircraft crews and tourists entering the country, nor alcohol exported by
the State Wine, Spirit and Tobacco Authority (ÁTVR) andothers, or sold to the Duty Free Store at KeflavíkAirport. As of 1 December 1995 the State monopoly
on the import and wholesale of alcohol was abolished and importers, producers and wholesalers holding a special licence issued by the Ministry of Finance
were permitted to resell alcohol. From 1995 the figures cover the sales ofÁTVR and the sales oflicence holders. In theyear 1992 wine covers table wine and
fortified wine and spirits refers to stronger alcohol. As of 1993 alcoholic beverages with alcohol percentage 22% or less by volume, except beer, are counted
as wine and those over 22% by volume are counted as spirits.
