heimagististaði. Þeir bændagististaðir sem hafa 8 herbergi eða fleiri og/eða 16 rúm eða fleiri teljast nú til hótela og gistiheimila. Nánari skýringar í texta.
Both farm guesthouses andprivate-home accommodation until year 1995. In 1995farm guesthouses were reclassified as either hotels and guesthouses or
private-home accommodation. Farm guesthouses with at least 8 rooms and/or 16 beds are now classified as hotels or guesthouses, others as private-home
accommodation.
2 Orlofshúsabyggðir hafa verið aðgreindar frá því sem áður var í einu lagi talinn heimagististaðir. Holiday-house accommodation, has been classified
separately from traditional private-home accommodation.
3 Tjaldsvæði og skálar voru aðgreind í sinn hvom flokkinn árið 1995. Camping sites and lodges in the wilderness were classified separately in 1995.
