13 Greenland. The cover of sown grass was estimated in Narsarsuaq and Upemaviarsuk on June 9 and 10, 1996 (Table 6) and again in Narsarsuaq on June 11, 1997. On June 12, 1997 the weed cover and winter kill in the Upemaviarsuk experiment were estimated. The winter kill was caused by ice cover from January to April. The damaged plots in Upernaviarsuk improved during the summer. The weed cover was estimated again in 1998 on both locations. Table 6. In Iceland the cover of the P. pratense varieties and Seida was around 90% in the spring of 1996 while the P. pratensis varieties covered less than 50%.Weed cover was estimated on June 15, 1998 (Table 7). However, ice cover caused winter kill in Upemaviarsuk in 1997. Onset of growth was in April at all locations (Tables 8, 9, 10 and 11). Estimates were not made by the same person at all locations so results may not be comparable.
