Atlantica - 01.03.2001, Side 69
DEAR PASSENGER
For your added comfort and safety we would like to bring a
few points to your attention. First of all we ask you to listen
carefully to the safety instructions provided by the crew and
take a look at the printed safety card in your seat pocket.
Please fasten your seat belt securely during take-off and land-
ing and close the folding table in front of you.We recommend
that you keep your seat belt fastened throughout the flight.
Hand luggage should be under the seat or stored in the
overhead compartments. Please be careful when you open
the compartments during or after the flight as the luggage
may have shifted. Due to limited space in the cabin we
might need to store a part of the hand luggage in the luggage
compartment.
We are very pleased to be the first European flag carrier to
go smoke-free.This is in response to overwhelming customer
preference. We hope that you enjoy the clean air on board!
ELECTRONIC DEVICES
The use of portable telephones, walkie-talkies, remote-
controlled toys and other devices specifically designed to
transmit radio signals is strictly forbidden at all times as
radio waves could affect the very sensitive navigation equip-
ment and digital computers used in modern aircraft. The
use of portable tape recorders, CD players, lap-top com-
puters, video cameras and electronic games is limited to the
cruising phase of the flight and forbidden during take-off and
climb as well as descent and landing phases of the flight.
Please show consideration for your fellow passengers and
only use these devices with earphones, and switch off the
sound effects of computer games. The use of heart pace-
makers, hearing aids and other devices required for medical
reasons is of course not restricted.
FOR YOUR COMFORT
For added comfort we offer pillows and blankets for pas-
sengers on all flights. On intercontinental flights Saga
Business Class passengers receive a kit containing slumber
shades, socks, earplugs and several other amenities for in-
flight comfort.
Above each seat is a reading light switch, and a call button
for use if there is anything you require. Ear blockage may be
experienced during take-off and landing. Yawning or swal-
lowing usually cures it.We carry a small supply of medicines
on board which may help with minor ailments.
FOOD AND BEVERAGES
Our chefs and service managers regularly update our menus
with the aim of making your in-flight meal a pleasure. Should
you have special requirements please let us know at least 24
hours in advance. Icelandair offers a variety of special meals
for children and babies, dietary and religious needs, etc.
Drinks will be offered from the mobile bar and you are wel-
come to order at other times. We ask passengers not to
drink alcoholic beverages other than those served by the
cabin staff. Please note that cabin attendants are authorised
to limit alcoholic drinks to two per person.
