We went to IcelAnd
And fell in love...
At first bite.
We had always known about Iceland. Everyone said that “we had to see
it for ourselves and taste the cuisine to believe it.” And that it was “so far
from anything we’d ever experienced, yet was closer than we thought.”
So, we did it...we went.
We got off the plane and while heading to our hotel we could feel that
Reykjavik (the capital) had a different energy...it was so unique! That
night, we went out to dinner (the best fish I ever tasted) and later heard
this great band that critics had raved about in the States. And the local
residents we met were great, too.
We spent the next four days enjoying the amazing surroundings...the
scenery, the waterfalls, and those cool lava fields. It was all so clean and
unspoiled. I can see why the Icelandic fish, lamb, and water are so pure.
In fact, we still ask for Icelandic seafood or lamb when we dine out!
Now that we’re home, all we can think about is going back. We loved
every minute of it!
Everyone was right.
