The River Thames only flows 215 miles from its source in the
Cotswolds through to the estuary at Southend-on-Sea, where
it finally reaches the North Sea, but a world of history lies
along the bends of the river. One such slice of history (pic-
tured here) is the Houses of Parliament and St. Stephen’s
Tower, better known as Big Ben after the famous bell that
rings within. Then there’s the conspicuous Millennium
Wheel, which makes one wonder, “Why?” Other must-see
sites located just a pebble toss away are No. 10 Downing
Street and Westminster Abbey.
