Iceland is exempt from the recently implemented law abolishing tax- and duty-free sales to travellers within the European Union
(EU). Iceland is not a member of the EU and therefore not affected by the change. In other words, Leifur Eiríksson Terminal is easy
on the wallet!
With stores open for all incoming and outgoing flights, the terminal provides travellers with a plethora of buying opportunities. All
merchandise available at the terminal are both tax- and duty-free, and prices are extremely competitive. The decision to end intra-EU
duty-free sales is increasing the already flourishing tax- and duty-free trade at the Leifur Eiríksson Terminal, located at Keflavík
International Airport, while at the same time equalising taxes among EU member states.
Icelandair does not fly between any destinations within the EU. Thus, Icelandair passengers can shop duty-free at all European des-
tinations, as well as in Iceland, when arriving and departing.

Inspired by Nature
Artist Aldís Bára Einarsdóttir is one of Iceland’s most skilled potters. She pro-
duces a variety of beautiful objects, designing all of them herself. She draws
her inspiration from Icelandic nature, and being a keen horse rider, she has
come to know Iceland’s stunning wilderness through her treks around the
country. All of her pottery is produced from high quality stone clay and
porcelain, burned at 1,280 degrees Celsius, and some objects also feature
Icelandic lava. The glaze used in their production is under strict quality con-
trol, containing no toxic chemicals or lead. Gold and white gold are also
incorporated into her creations (and burned at 800 degrees Celsius). Aldís’
artwork includes candlesticks, vases, bowls and lanterns.

Georg Jensen - Golden Christmas
More and more people set much store by celebrating Christmas with deco-
rations that are both elegant and modern. With candleholders, ornaments,
stars, confectionery (fruit skewers) and door wreaths, Georg Jensen has

longer time period without continuously having to change the candles. If one
wants to use traditional candles on Christmas Eve, it is easy to make the
change from electric lights to candlelit ones.

of lights that suits your needs. They are easy to connect and give your
Christmas tree a smart, striking appearance.
