four days, about 15,000 visitors came to see, among other things, the ten two-meter-high
columns of ice that represented the volume of carbon dioxide generated by each person
in the UK every year. Leaflets were passed out bearing suggestions on how individuals
could contribute to reducing carbon dioxide emissions that catalyze the melting of the
Arctic landscape the project traveled to.
In June, the first comprehensive exhibition of Cape Farewell’s first four years will begin
at London’s Natural History Museum. “The Ship: The Art of Climate Change” will display
the work of 15 artists who have been part of the project from 2003. The exhibit will run
from June 3 through September 3, 2006. To learn more about the Cape Farewell project,
