on the fly
It’s the little things that make life easier.
ALONG THE WAY
All Filled Up. Imagine having free access to thousands of radio
stations without ever having to subscribe to XM or Sirius. As long
as you have an iPod and Mac OS X 10.3 or Windows XP (or higher),
you don’t have to dream any longer. Griffin Technology’s new iFill
software allows you to stream mp3 files from thousands of free
Internet radio stations directly into your iPod, therefore saving you
from any more clutter on your hard drive. Bonus: even a non-tech-
savvy person can easily figure out how to use the software. You can
try it for a week before deciding if you actually want to buy it.

Rock and Roll. Schlepping your stuff through airports or around town
is about to get easier. A London-based design firm recently won a
prestigious award for its new Caddy, a mobile suitcase-cum-walker.
Think rolling suitcase meets granny trolley meets mobility aid. You
can pull, push, or sit on it, but it’s not as dorky as you might think.
When practicality – a pivoting rear leg allows the user to easily switch
between two and four-wheel modes, an adjustable handle, and an
expandable gut to increase volume, among others – is coupled with
its sleek, modern design, you’ll be the envy of those doubled over in
pain from the weight of their duffle bag. And you won’t be late for
your flight. It’s still in the prototype stages now, but stay tuned.
