5k
YET!
The Color Run is a 5k run-at-your-
own-pace event, during which different
colored powders are thrown at you. After
a brief discussion in which my children
convinced me that they could manage the
distance, we decided to participate in the
inaugural Reykjavík event.
If you think it’s the colors that stand
out in the run, you’re partly right, but
the smiles were at least as widespread.
No wonder the event, which celebrates
healthiness, happiness and individuality,
is also known as ‘the Happiest 5k on the
Planet.’
Held on June 6, one of the first days of
summer, the weather was still a little cold
but it was a great opportunity to unite
the people of Reykjavík in a run after the
long winter.
Once the run was over, the party start-
ed. People gathered by the stage to dance
and have fun with colors flying every-
where. I was happy. The kids loved it.
