Over the last few years, more and
more people have begun using the
city for outdoor physical activity and
exercise. Conditions for outdoor activ-
ity in Reykjavík have been boosted by
improvements made to public parks,
squares, playgrounds; as well as new
cycling and walking paths built or
planned in the near future.
Now confirmed as a yearly affair in
Iceland, the Color Run joins a host
of other runs—like the Reykjavík
Marathon, the Women’s Run and the
ÍR Run, which celebrated its 100th anni-
versary this spring—in an ever-growing
calendar of outdoor athletic events mak-
ing the most of Reykjavík’s delightful
surroundings. *
