Ronald W. Kristjanson has been ap-
pointed by the Society for Crippled
Children and Adults of Manitoba as
Manager of its Industrial Workshop
at 592 Notre Dame Avenue, Win-
nipeg. He replaces Mrs. Nan Murphy,
who retired recently.

OBTAINS ATHLONE FELLOW-
SHIP
Michael Guy Skafel
Michael Guy Skafel, a son of Dr.
and Mrs. E. J. Skafel, of Brandon,
Man., has been awarded a 1968 Ath-
lone Fellowship for two years of ad-
vanced studies in engineering at a
university of his choice.
Michael Skafel took his first two
years of science at Brandon College,
now the University of Brandon. He
then went to the University of Sask-
atchewan in Saskatoon where he
obtained his Masters Degree from the
same university on a National Re-
search Council Scholarship. Since then
he has been employed at the research
telecommunications establishment, at
Shirley Bay, Ont. Mr. Skafel has not
yet decided at what university he is
going to take this special advanced
work in Engineering.
