Benda má á að rannsóknir, sem sýna fram á góð áhrif brjóstagjafa
á heilsufar og líðan nýbura, skoða áhrif brjóstamjólkurinnar á
barnið en ekki þá aðferð sem notuð er til gjafa (Armand o.fl.,
1996; Chen og Rogan, 2004; Lawrece, 1994; Lucas og Cole,
1990; Raiseler o.fl., 1999). Engin rannsókn fannst sem gefur til
kynna að máli skipti fyrir líðan eða heilsu barnsins hvernig því
er gefin brjóstamjólkin.
