PETRINA REGINA
PETERSON
On September 22,1978 at the
Betel Home, Gimli, Mrs. Pe-
trina Regina Peterson, aged 96
years, formerly of Winnipeg.
Mrs. Peterson was born in
Iceland and came to Winnipeg
in 1904. She lived for many
years in Oak Point, Man.
Predecéased by her hus-
band, Kristinn on March 30,
1958, she is survived by her
son Hallgrimur Peterson of
Ottawa; grandson Arthur Pe-
terson Ottawa; sister Helga
Arnason of Gimli and brother
Rev. Sveinbjorn Olafsson of
Minneapolis.
Friends may call at the
chapei on Sunday, between
2:00 and 9:00 p.m. and Monday
between 7:00 and 9; 00 p.m.
Funeral services will be
held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday.
September 26, 1978 at the Bar-
dal Funeral Home, Sherbrook
at William with Dr. V. J. Ey-
lands officiating. Interment to
foilow in the Brookside Ceme-
tery.
Should friends so desire, in
lieu of flowers, donations may

GOTTFRED
HJALTALIN
On September 18, 1978 at the
Health Sciences General
Centre, Mr. Gottfred Hjalta-
lin, aged 81 years, late of the
Lions Manor.
Bom on January 11, 1897 in
Iceland, Mr. Hjaltalin came to
Canada in 1924. Predeceased
by his wife, Kristin, April 12,
1972 and daughter Elsa (Mrs.
F. Waylett), August 1966, he is
survived by two granddaugh-
ters, Mrs. Marsa Galea of Ot-
tawa and Kristin Waylett of
Knowlton, Quebec, and one
sister Hilda Hjaltalin in Ice-
land.
Friends may call at the
ichapel on Wednesday, (to-
night) between 7:00 and 9:00
p.m.
Funeral services will be
heid at 11:00 a.m., Thursday,
September 21, 1978 at the Bar
dal Funeral Home, Sherbrook
at William with Pastor John
V. Arvidson officiating. Inter-
ment to follow in the Brook-
side Cemetery.

LARUS BJORNSON
On September 16,1978 at his
residence, Mr. Larus Bjom-
son, aged 74 years, of Ste. 10 -
206 Agnes Street.
Mr. Bjornson had been em-
ployed with Canada Bread Co.
for 42 years, retiring in 1968.
Predeceased by his wife
Margret in 1971, Mr. Bjorason
is survived by one brother,
Hannes Bjornson; two sisters,
Inga Nelson and Miss Villa
Bjornson both of Gimli; neph-
ew Balder Nelson of Wood-
bank and other nieces and
nephews.
ESTHER GUDMUNDSON
On September 22, 1978 a( the
St. Boniface Hospital, Mrs.
Esther Gudmundson, aged 54
years, dearly beloved wife of
Edward Gudmundson of Ar-
borg, Manitoba.
Funeral service will be held
on Monday, September 25 at
2:00 p.m. in the Ardal Luther-
an Church, Arborg, with Pas-
tor Michael Cone officiating,
interment in the Arborg Cem-
etery.
Mrs. Gudmundson, had
lived most of her life in the
Arborg district, leaves to
mourn hcr passing, besides
her husband, two daughters,
Wendy of Winnipeg, Ingrid
(Mrs. Robert Sikich) of Min-
neapolis, Minn., two sisters,
Mrs. Emily Crone and Mrs.
Helga Boyd both of Winnipeg
and her grandchildren,
Dwayne, Dianne and Julie.
Flowers gratefully declíned,
those so wishing may contrib-
ute to the Cancer Research

Johnson, aged 66 years, be-
loved husband oi' Vcra of 41
Springside Drive, St. Vital.
Besides his wife Vera, Mr.
Johnson is survived by two
sons; Reg and daughter-in-law
Nancy Johnson of Winnipeg.

Doreen Johnson also of Winni-
peg: one daughter, Doreen
and son-in-law Aiex Young oi
Winnipeg; grandchildren,
Karen. Palricia. Joanne and
Susan Johnson and Janice and
Bob Young and Kathryn John-
son; three sisters. Ingibjorg
Gudmundsdottir of Iceland.

and Margaret Hansen of ln-

and nephews. He was prede-
ceased by two sisters; Jolian-

residence on Little Tamarac
Island, Lake Winnipeg, Mr.
Bjorn Stefan Sigurdson, aged
76 yeaTs.
Funeral services will be
held on Thursday, September
21 at 3:00 p.m. in the Gilbart
Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with
Rev. Boyd Molder cfficiating.
Interment will foliow in the
family plot in the Lutheran
Cemetery at Selkirk.
Mr. Sigurdson was bom in
Gimli and has resided at Little
Tamarac for the past 45 years.
In his earlier years he was a
commercia! fisherman and
later was a mink íarmer until
retiring two years ago.
He was predeceased by his
brother Paul in 1933 and sister
Sigridur in 1967 and leaves
surviving his brother Oli J.
Sigurdson also of Little Ta-
marac, and a number of
nieces nephews and many
friends.
