Strength and sustainabiljty are the cherished offspring of our own indus- try, and come about with the will and recognition that we have a profound culture, whose maintenance and proper aggrandizement ought to be a chief regard of the elder custodians of that heritage, many of whom sub- Donations to Lögberg-Heimskringla Inc. It is with joy then, and real opti- mism that I communicate to you a promising development within the Frón. We have recently been app- roached by a couple of enthusiastic and accomplished young adults of Icelandic background, representing a larger but still nascent body, who wish to develop, administrate and nurture a youth group. In our best consideration, we have gladly offered this chance a place within the Frón, with a mild economic yoke, so as to attract the widest possible member- ship from our budding generation. This youthful arm plans to meet on scheduled occasions at the Scandinavian Centre, provide oppor- tunities for growth in the contexts and knowledge of Icelandic culture, offer a receptive social environment, and establish an agenda specific to their needs. We on the executive of the Frón warmly welcome this appreciated development, and encourage all read- ers to extend an invitation to any potential candidate, whether it be a child, grandchild, niece, nephew, cousin or friend, to entertain this happy prospect, from which we may better ensure our sustainable future, and hope to enrich all who venture forth in this cause, in the ways pre- scribed above. All curious souls may contact the Frón at 764 Erin Street, R3G 2W4, or may give me a call at 831-7284, and I can put you in touch with the appro- priate people. Please join and support us in this exciting prospect by communicating this opportunity to any worthy advo- cate, wherein worth is a measure of personal interest without further con- sideration. Let’s hope that, with your assis- •tance, we can increase the success of this happy venture. cJ/aae a Jiapfiy S. K.
