— On September 11, five visi-

and Almar Grímssom, presi-

After a tour of Fensala Hall
and the Creamery, the guests
enjoyed coffee and cookies in
the bright afternoon sun. Min-
ister Magnússon thanked us
and announced that the Icelan-
dic Govemment will donate
$ 10,000 toward completing the
restoration of Fensala Hall.
They then went to the
Stephansson House Historic
Site to tour the poet Stephans-
son’s restored home.
Much of the restoration
work on Fensala Hall has been
completed and the gift from the
Government of Iceland will al-
low it to be finished and ready
for use in November.

ized it was not just a ‘‘simple
cup of coffee” — but some
kind of gathering. I posed the
question: “Is there something
special about that day?”
Kristin replied that it was
her 75th birthday, and she was
hosting a party for all her fam-
ily and friends. She stated that
120 people had been invited to
her two-bedroom apartment.
Now that’s performance!
1 did attend the party, and
was amazed at how well the
day went. Assisted by her
family and friends, her table
was delightful and the food
was delicious. It was her party
—- and she was thrilled at the
outcome.
