106 duty to his church, to be one ot' its most ardent supporters and workers, our church today would hold a higher place in the community. It is also our duty as young people to support our church by working for it. It is our duty to carry on the work begun hy great men, for their work went into the life of the church, just as the roof and bricks go into the actual build- ing. The youth of the church should take a deeper interest in the services of worship and a larger share in all her activi- ties. Working for the church, we are indirectly working for ourselves. If we, as far as we can, give our help with a truly Christian spirit, our contributions will do more good to us who give them, for every such expression of Christian love will leave an impression on our character. Our churches must he made attractive and have a good appearance so that people will feel like entering them to worship. This can be done only through having a good financial standing. This is wlrere our young people can help our church — financial support. Why not have all members, when confirmed, take upon themselves the responsi- biíity of contributing a small sum yearly, the amount being according to their income? But when working for or with a Young People’s Society, these same members will be found willing to work for the church because of the association with other yonng people. The Young People’s Society helps individuals to find a fuller life. Many are shy, sensitive, self-conscious, uncertain of their own personality. We can help thern by believing in them and giving them things to do where they can succeed and gain strength. Then, through a Young People’s Society, young people are drawn out to work for and achieve an interest in their church, which all should have. Surely then it is justifiable to say that every church should have a Young People’s Society. Therefore, in concluding, let me sum up our duty, as
