Sunrise Lutheran Camp News

Sunrise Lutheran Camp was closed for the season Friday,
August 14th, after a very successful summer. Following is a list
of staff members with the different groups:
June 20th—The camp with all facilities was opened free of
charge for a picnic for visually handicapped people. The picnic was
under the auspices of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Blind of
Winnipeg.
June 27th and 28th—The Sunday School Teachers Association
had their rally under the leadership of their president, Olmar Sigurd-
son of Winnipeg. The rally closed by an outside service where an
outdoor chapel was dedicated by Pastor Martin Ruccins, a mis-
sionary from Liberia, Africa. The outside chapel was erected by
the Sunday School teachers and donated to the camp.
July lst—A picnic was held on camp grounds by the Ansgar
Danish-Lutheran Church of Winnipeg.
July 2nd to lOth—Group of Seniors (Leadership Training): Dean,
Mr. Gissur Eliasson, Winnipeg; Matron and Dining Room Hostess,
Mrs. S. Olafsson; Nurse, Mrs. G. Eliasson; Recreational and Swim-
ming Director, Jack Ried, Selkirk; Leaders, Miss Dorothy Reck-
siedler and Jack Ried.
July lOth to 18th—Intermediate Boys. Dean, Rev. Virgil Ander-
son; Matron and Dining Room Hostess, Mrs. S. Olafsson; Nurse, Mrs.
M. Collison, Selkirk; Leaders: Gordon McGinnis, Langruth; Robert
Johannson, Langruth; Ernest Kurbis, Selkirk; Jimmie Oliver,
Selkirk.
July 20th to 28th—Junior Boys. Dean, Rev. S. Olafsson, Selkirk;
Matron and Dining Room Hostess, Mrs. S. Olafsson; Nurse, Mrs. B.
Bjarnarson, Langruth; Program Director, Dorothy Recksiedler.
