Greetings from a Grandson
Read at the funeral of the Rev. N. S. Thorlaksson
Farewell good and faitful servant!
You have been faithful to task committed unto you.
You have brought the light of God’s great Love to hearts
of many.
In word and deed you’ve born true witness of the Light.
You have seen the Way — the Truth — the Life in Him
whom
the Father sent unto us,
and have given this beautiful vision to many — to family
and friends — to all, even the least of Jesus’ brethren
You have shown us in many ways dear Afi, the Glad
Tidings of our God — the tidings of His Love.
— In the way you have done justly and loved
mercy and walked humbly with your God —
Yes and in the little things of life — the way
you enjoyed Life’s simple pleasures — you — your Radio,
your games your books — the way way you took an
interest
in all about you — you truly were observant.
— The way you loved. to meet with friends — and they
are many.
The way you loved your children and their children and
especially your beloved — Bestemor.
And now you leave to take your place among God’s high
and noble
saints — these fellowers of Jesus Christ who are faithful
even to little
things of life — and thus been made the masters over many.
You have borne the torch of God’s Great Love
You have let its Truth burn into hearts of men
For you preached Christ — Christ Crucified and Him only
did you preach.
You have fought a good fight dear Afi — you have kept
the Faith —
You have finished the course.
“Well done thou good and faithful servant”
Harald Sigmar.
