SURTSEY – GENESIS CULTURE NIGHTThe volcanic island Surtsey has been inscribed
on UNESCO World Heritage List of natural sites
Surtsey is unique in that it has been protected from any
human impact right from its creation.
The exhibition Surtsey – Genesis traces the emergence
and evolution of the island Surtsey to the present day and
predicts its geological and ecological development over
the next 120 years.
The exhibition is produced by the Icelandic Institute of
Natural History.
