^^asketball season nears end;
only ‘B’ League title decided
As the winter basketball season draws to a close, one league has
been decided while the other leagues still look for a champion.
In the "A" League NSGA leads NavSta and VP-56 by one-half game
and NavCommSta a full game. AFI also has a chance in the "A"
league. Air Operations has ------------------------------------------

A"
clinched the "B" League title and
at the present time five other
teams can place in this league.
The team from Grindavik holds
first place in the "C" League but
is followed by four teams with
the possibility of finishing
first. NSGA remains undefeated
in the Recreation League with
three teams hoping to change this
for the security group. And in
the smallest league (the ladies')
three of the four teams are making
a race for the crown.

LETTERS, from Page 2
or the bus has already passed
their particular point of contact?
The Navy salary definitely
does not allow for taxi fare of
one dollar every time one person
needs to go to the exchange,
laundry, etc. And all too often,
they need to get to work. The
problem could have evolved from
the fact that personnel in a po-
sition to correct the problem
are not directly related to the
problem...they have transporta-
tion.
With the recent sub-zero tem-
peratures and inclement weather,
it is not exactly feasible for an
individual to walk from, say the
BEQ to the exchange. Yet why
should that man suffer a charge
of $2 to go there and return? The
weather will not soon improve,
but this isn't reason for trans-
portation to follow the same pat-
tern. Couldn't the Navy afford
to run two buses, say 15 minutes
apart in opposite directions so
that it wouldn't require the in-
dividual to travel the whole
route in order to return to their
place of billeting?
This was the old method and
should be resumed. Why does the
cutback affect this and not some
other Navy operation on the base
of lesser importance’ The per-
sonnel assigned to an inclement
weather base deserve this.
