Junior Rifle Club presents awards
The Keflavik Junior Rifle Club presented marksmanship awards to
ten of its members February 21, in ceremonies at the Rod and Gun Club.
Don E. Burnham, the club's instructor and advisor, presented 43
awards. All firing is on the indoor range under adult supervision
according to rules set forth by ______________________________________
the National Rifleman's Associ-
ation.
Receiving awards were:
• Dave Burnham, who received
his Expert marksmanship badge;
• Jeffrey Burnham, who got his
seventh through ninth Sharpshoot-
er awards;
• Gary Broyles, getting his
second through sixth Sharpshooter
awards;
• Terry Broyles, earning his
first through seventh Sharpshoot-
er awards;
• Terry Good, who earned his
fifth Sharpshooter bar;
• Stu Meredith and Brian
Sheets who were awarded their in-
itial Pro Marksman awards all the
way to the first Sharpshooter bar;
• Pat Mrsny and Irv Weed, earn-
ing from Pro Marksman through sec-
ond Sharpshooter; and
• Kim Anderson, who got her
sixth through ninth Sharpshooter
awards.
Kim, the only female member of
the club, has repeatedly distin-
guished herself in the one year
she has been a member. She start-
ed with little rifle experience,
and improved rapidly. She holds
awards second only to Dave Bum-
ham, who now is an Expert Marks-
man. Kim departs Iceland Tuesday,
with her parents. Her father, Lt.
Cdr. Charles A. Anderson, retired
today with 20 years naval service.
